Sparkly Christmas Gift Tags

Just so that everyone knows, the tags I made for this class I'm also entering to the Crazy 4 Challenges-C4C163 Gift Tags challenge.

After all the Christmas cards and gifts that are made, there remains finishing touches to be made. One of those is the thing that everyone looks at to see if their name is on a gift. Christmas Gift Tags! At Scrapbook Parade, on November 29th, we are having a class where we will make six sparkly tags, some of which have a lot of dangly stuff hanging on it or from it. Each kit will have all the material needed to make 12 tags, two of each, but we'll make only one of each during class and the rest can be completed at home.

So let me share with you the tags we will be making.

We are using Echo Park's This & That Christmas paper collection. Let's take a closer look at each of the tags individually.

This first one, is a notched folded tag (banner tag), like a little card, where you can write a little more than 'To' and 'From'. The poinsettia is from Jolee's Boutique and I placed three strands of 1/8" red velvet ribbon from behind it. I took advantage of all the little word cards and cut the words out in strips to add to the tags. Matting the "poinsettia" on red, I then edged it with Xmas Red Stickles.  The red, white & green string is from Maya Road and is called Watermelon.
Now we'll have a look at an Ornament shaped tag die cut with Spellbinder 2010 Heritage Ornament die. I traced the inside of the die to get the red pattern paper on the Bazzill Ivy mat with a small border around it. From Gold Mirror Foil paper I punched a star with Fiskar's Star punch. And, to sparkle it up I used Gold Stickles on the star, around the text banner, and dotted the center of each diamond pattern on the paper.
This is a fun tag as it makes a jingling sound from the little jingle bells on it. And, it has a lot of sparkle on it in both Xmas Red and Holly Stickles creating my own pattern as I applied them onto the tag.  The shape of this tag comes from using Spellbinders Labels 13.
Let's look at another folded tag. This one is very long (2 1/4"W x 5 1/2" L). I took advantage of the length and made it look like a little gift. Used a lot of that beautiful 1/8" velvet ribbon on this one. Especially in the looping of the ribbon behind the punched Ivy green circle covered in Holly Stickles. I paced three snowflakes covered with Star Dust Stickles on that and then a red jewel in the center of each snowflake. I made the "merry" & "christmas" into charms or mini tags hanging from it and added even more Holly Stickles. I even used a little of the Xmas Red Stickles on the red dots on the paper. After all, Christmas has to be sparkly, right.
This fifth tag, has a tag hanging from it, making it a long one for a nice tall or large gift. You can't see it in the photo, but the other side of the "holiday" tag, hanging from the bottom, says "cheer". Both sides of this tag has Star Dust Stickles around the oval edges that was die cut with Spellbinders Petite Ovals Small. The punched snowflakes and the green Upsy Daisy brad is also covered with Star Dust Stickles. The shape of the tag comes from Spellbinders Labels 6 with Bazzill's Bitter Chocolate cardstock as the mat for the Echo Park plaid.
For the sixth and final one, I used Spellbinders Crown Circles as a base with Bazill's Ivy cardstock. I used a strip of Echo Park's This & That red damask patterned paper and scored it every 1/4" to make the fan folded medallion. The on the medallion I created, I placed another of Jolee's Boutique Poinsettias, but this one is cream in colour. With the three word banners I made, I glued them onto the little circles at the outer edges so that they are an extension of them. Each green circle is covered with Holly Stickles, as is the frame of the word strips/banners.                                     The next photo is a close up showing it a little more to the side so that you can see the layering better.

Sorry that it isn't more clear for you. So there you have the six traditional coloured Christmas Gift tags! Hope that you had fun viewing them and that you are inspired to create some of your own beautiful Christmas Gift tags to place on the gifts that you have for under your tree.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your comment. It lets me know if I'm creating good stuff and if anyone wants tutorials. Your kind encouraging words are always appreciated, and I thank you for those you have left in the past.

Happy crafting everyone!
